Oakley is 4 months old! (Well, she has been for about a week now.) At her doctor's appointment, the Pediatrician said she is in the 50th percentile for weight, and 95th percentile for height. She's a tall little thing! The doctor also said it was time to start giving her solid foods. What? Already?!? What happened to my tiny little baby?
She is getting so big. She has become much more aware of her surroundings, and loves to grab for things, hold them, and pick them up if she can, including Max. He gets a little scared, but does really well with her. She has discovered how to scream, and loves to do it just for fun. She has learned that if she uses her "emergency" cry, mommy will come running, so she now uses that one for everything. She manages to scoot herself around on her back, and rolls onto her side, but refuses to go all the way over. She loves to laugh and loves her daddy. As soon as Dan walks into the room she gets a huge smile on her face and starts cooing. She's a daddy's girl already.
And did I mention the drool? She puts her hands in her mouth, chews on her fingers and absolutely covers herself in drool. She loves to go on walks in her stroller, so we walk to the grocery store. It works out well because the stroller only holds so much (I learned that the hard way after trying to walk home with 10 jars of sauce for the Standards Night Dinner plus our groceries), so we usually have to go back every couple days, and that means lot of walks! She is a schedule girl. As long as she's on her schedule she is a happy little camper who eats, plays, then goes right to sleep as soon as I put her in her crib. But get her off her schedule and she'll definitely let you know how made she is! (Like she did at our last Wednesday night activity, which was, of course, the one I was in charge of this month, where she screamed the entire time except for when we were in the store, apparently, shopping is her thing.)
The trick used to be getting her to look at the camera, now it's keeping the camera out of her slobbery reach :)
She is so fun, we just love having her in our family!!!

Hi Linds,
She is getting big. She's so cute!
She looks like your husband.
P.S.- My niece liked the program. She said that you're very nice!
good luck with those solids! Its quite the experience those first couple of times. She looks so cute in that hat!
It sounds like Oakley is a lot like Brielle! She loves her schedule and is a happy camper when I stick to it! :)
By the way, my mom is in town and I showed her your blog and she commented on how cute both you and Oakley are! And she loves Oakley's name. The little girl is so lucky to have you for her mommy!
Happy 4 Months! She sure has turned into a beautiful baby. Well, she always was beautiful, but her face is taking on more defined features. You'll have to post lots after I leave so I can watch her grow up.
